United Methodist Men (UMM)
The UMM are about fellowship, spirituality and assisting with the upkeep of the church campus. All men of the church are encouraged to join the UMM, and the Pastor is an honorary member. There are no special criteria, dues or forms to join, just show up!
We hold monthly business meetings to discuss the needs of the church campus, we meet monthly for breakfast where we share fellowship and friendship, and we meet bi-weekly for a Bible Study.
The UMM, and other volunteers, run an annual fireworks booth at the church with the proceeds used for campus maintenance items, we cook dinner twice a year for the church’s 3rd Wednesday Be Our Guest program, and we sponsor a local Boy Scout Troop that meets at the church. We enjoy holding pancake breakfasts and BBQs, and we like to treat the ladies to an annual Sweetheart Breakfast at a local restaurant.
Our business meeting is held the second Saturday of each month at Brookfields Restaurant, 11135 Folsom Blvd near Sunrise Blvd. We have a breakfast meeting at 7:30 am and then reconvene at the church at 9:00 am where we perform yard maintenance and general clean-up of the church grounds. Most times we are assisted by a Sheriff’s week-end work crew so we generally need more volunteer supervisors to instruct the crew rather than doing a lot of heavy labor.
For our fellowship meeting, we meet the Wednesday prior to the second Saturday of each month for breakfast at McDonalds on Folsom Blvd., at Coloma Rd. We start at 8:00 am with a simple devotion and spend time sharing great fellowship with our fellow Christian men.
The UMM meet the first and third Mondays of each month for Bible Study at 7:00 pm, at the church. Questions for us to ponder and talk about at the Bible Study are emailed to participants a week in advance. Lively discussion happens… and great snacks also! Come and check us out!
Zoom Bible Study takes place Mondays from 4-5. The weekly meeting information is distributed weekly to all UMCRC Members. Contact Jo Dunlap for more information.
Adult Chapel choir practices each Thursday at 7:00 pm, at the church, and perform most Sundays.
All children preschool through 8th grade are welcome in the Youth Choir. They practice on Sundays at 9:15 am in the choir room. They perform on select Sundays.
(Friends Eating and Sharing Together)
We like to try different restaurants occasionally and if you do too come give us a try. We go out to lunch once a month in the Rancho Cordova / Sacramento area. We meet the second Tuesday of each month with different folks selecting the restaurant. Call Mike or VerJoyce Salmon at 916-853-9976 for more information.
Email Prayer Chain
If you have a person or issue that you would like to have surrounded by prayer, please contact John Simmons at 916-838-1825, firstname.lastname@example.org. Your request will be shared with our congregation so we can bring on the mighty power of prayer. Details can be brief to protect the privacy of the prayer recipient, and we know GOD already knows the details.
Meets the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 5:00 pm, in Adam’s Hall.
